My name is JazzyWasseh, or just Jazzy!
I am an autistic 22 year old Vocal Synth tuner, vocal engineer, and cover artist!I've been a GIANT VSynth fan since I was 11, and a tuner for over half a decade! I am OBSESSED with vocal production, singing, and VOCALOID culture, so nothing makes me happier than tuning voicebanks, hyper-focusing on their details, and pushing their programs past their limits!I am especially fond of IA and Hatsune Miku, but I literally love all VSynths!I love listening to and tuning expressive, smooth emotional realistic performances, as well as quirky, ear-worm forming synthetic performances! I have a blast doing both styles of vocals, as well as an in-between between them, and even attempting new sounds that deny the label of both!I am a firm believer that VSynths can sing ANYTHING!! So this is actually a REMIX, not an original, but it feels too beefed up with new stuff to be included in the cover section LOL.I am so honored to have tuned for this, and I really wanted to put my all into it. I am deeply Miku obsessed, and it was important to me to do her justice! I wanted Hatsune Miku to sound like a pop radio-ready vocal packed with human expression, whilst still remaining characteristically and recognizably herself, and similar to vocals on previous tommy works that I've obsessed on for a while now. It can be difficult to balance those two extremes in characteristics, but I love doing it, and I am very happy with the result! It's worth the effort! Balancing the inconsistencies and "flaws" of VOCALOID and repackaging them as a real human singers natural quirks.As for the emotional part of Miku's performance, I wanted her to contrast BBNO$'s more laid back, apathetic sadness with a closer to crying, vivid sadness. I utilized Miku V6's idol and nasal tone to lean more into a controlled and melodic "whine". I put a lot of detail in her breath control to help achieve this sound. I also based her heavily on tommy's own vocals! Oh... and I was looping KIRA around this time (not an unusual occurance for me lol) and it influenced my pronunciations and vocal fry usage. I love KIRA. Miku V6 is also layered with Miku V4, so they can fill each other's frequency gaps and lower nasal/boom!Some of the most fun I've ever had tuning!

This song is on the Otomachi Una collaboration album "Otomachi Otomo"!I loved Luv-P's jazzy melodies and I really wanted to lean into that jazz vibe with Una's performance! I tuned her to sound expressive and spoken-word like on the verses, and excited and soulful on the choruses! I wanted each note to be packed with expression relating to the meaning of the active lyric. This is a common ideal for my tuning, tbh. I really want it to sound like the VSynth has a soul.I love this type of melody for storytelling, and I wanted the tuning to reflect that!I also put in extra effort to not loose the popular, stereotypical "Una" vocal traits people often associate with her through the years whilst attempting clear English and human expression. I feel while harder, Una V6 is very good for this, and this song made me realize how much I love tuning her!

I did not tune this whole song, but I specifically wrote and tuned the English rap through 2:05- 2:31! Ultima told me to go all out on the camp factor (thank you i love you) so I did! I wanted her to sound sassy, aggressive, and confident... but also cute, and almost annoyingly overly expressive, but listenable. Just like pixel party, I wanted Nyaonix to sound like a Japanese Idol in the pitch, but less excited dynamically, and rather more intimate, breathy, and reflective. Pixel Party is Nyaonix before the show, and New Tomorrow is Nyaonix on the way home! I tuned around that visual heavily.I liked showcasing Nyaonix's range through this album! He can get very powerful, and also very soft! I tried to make him sound realistic, but processed.I mixed and mastered this one as well!

Nyaonix's debut! I LOVE THIS TYPE OF VOICEBANK!! Very cute, choppy, and expressive! I tried to characterize Nyaonix with Japanese idol-like pitch bends, loud excited dynamics, and a lot of over the top moe! I was very inspired by many popular realistic virtual singing attempts that aim to create a realistic Japanese idol, using CFM vocaloids such as Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin!I am very happy with how it turned out! My goal was to bring Nyaonix to life with how I imagine Nyaonix, the idol, rather than Nyaonix, the voicebank, would perform it! I imagined him jumping around on stage, and then tuned around that visual!I also mixed and mastered this one!

This is the final song of HABINA HYMN! I wanted it to sound like every other IA I tuned for the album all at once. I wanted sections where she becomes angry and synthetic kinda like youth, sad and breathy kinda like the bridge in SUPERNOVA, and realistic and powerful kinda like Goodbye! I wanted to make her go through these fan-made "vocal modes" or interpretations of her mental state naturally, corresponding to the verses emotion. The end of the song features all 3 of these archetypes singing at once!Basically, I aimed for one voicebank to sound like 3 appends, and they all represented a different feeling.Some of my favorite tuning I've done, thank you, Panny!

CRYING BABY IA!!! Similar to ARIA, I wanted IA to sound like a human with effects on her that make her synthetic, rather than a VOCALOID who is naturally synthetic. ARIA was a more soft, controlled surreal sounding IA, while with youth, I wanted to aim for a "what if IA just yelled her emotions into the mic and then it got processed?" and that's what it ended up being!I used her older VoiSona voicebank for some extra synthetic flare! I wanted every line to give you an ear-worm, and abuse the fact she's not a real singer, but can still sound like one, to create a surreal, raw, and trippy sounding youthful IA. Like a robots humanity breathing through.

I fell in love with this song in half a second, I love Lainxoxo's production, and while tuning it I was inspired by the vocals already present in her discography, and the tuners she has worked with! I wanted to create an artifical sounding vocal, but in a hyperpop way rather than a "VOCALOID" way, if that makes sense.I tuned the file realistically, but with intentional planned slip-ups and inconsistencies, and then Lainxoxo processed it. The intention was for IA to sound like a human with autotune and effects, rather than a VOCALOID.A blast!

I put my all into this one, as I felt a song this emotional, raw, and acoustic deserved vocals more leaning into mature realism. I was very inspired by Motown, gospel, and IA's voice provider "Lia". I tried to merge those three influences as if they were parameters naturally.I wanted the song to gain intensity as it went on, each chorus getting more emotional, until the final one reaches and she belts and growls out. This song was full of confident energy, so I approached it accordingly! This song was made for the first AOFEST by Audiologie, and I was very inspired by the soulful and modern-RnB sound in official Audiologie demo's for ANRI and Jun, and I tried to imitate it with a more powerful twist.In retrospect, I was kinda imagining ANRI's newer voicebank "ANRI Arcane" before it existed, and was trying to create it, LOL. I handled the mix as well! I've gotten a lot better at mixing since this.

There are two added raps, and each section features a different style of Miku V6!For the pre chorus, she is soft and pitchy, and is supported by backing enka vocals for the Japan theming in the song. For the chorus, I tuned her to sound like a human jumping around a stage with good breath control. She's bouncy, and excited as the cryptonloids cheer her on, all tuned like how they speak at official events! Lots of pitch drops and fluffy pronunciations.For the added rap I wanted to tune it similar to my "PARTY ALL WEEK B" cover featuring Miku V6! This is such a classic IA song, so I approached it accordingly. I wanted it to sound tonally like the original that features IA V3, but occasionally switches into another popular classic IA tone you'd hear in works like the "Tori no uta" demo, or "Shooting Star" by TeddyLoid.I wanted it to sound like the two most popular vocal interpretations of IA dueting with each other, each representing a different version and mindset of Shinitai-chan.Pitch wise, I went for my traditional IA pitch style, but slightly less human to give a bit more of a VOCALOID vibe.

I made this cover to celebrate the release of Splatoon Raiders! I've been a Splatoon fan nearly as long as I have been a VSynth fan, and I wanted to merge the two! I love when people do that!This was the result of a study on Splatoon vocal production!I studied Enka vocals and provided my best imitation on IA, and the same for ONE but with Bollywood.Most of this cover is mixing as I tried to imitate the style Nintendo uses for Splatoon releases, but slightly turned down on the squid voices, and more "radio/live".I love doing experimental silly stuff like this.

I tuned this in one day immediately after streetcat released! I got hooked by the melodies and how they contrasted with the rap sections! I immediately started hearing IA perform it in my head and I needed to get it out.I wanted IA to sound like she was letting go. In the chorus, lots of runs, casual growls, and emotion. Bittersweet and powerful like a euphoric release of sadness.For the first rap section, I wanted her to sound tonally flat, but expressive in pitch. I felt it lined up with the instrumental nicely.Then, for the second rap section, I tuned her as if she was a human vocal and I was trying to make her sound like a highly edited trap/hyperpop vox!For the chorus and verses, I tuned the pitch to be very natural and human. Normal vibratos, natural dynamics, and human breath control. However, I occasionally would snap the pitch to catch my ears off guard, and have sharp pitch transitions to imitate the style of Kasane Teto in "Birdbrain" a little bit!I had fun!

A whole rap cover! No singing :DI had SO much fun with this! I wanted it to sound like the Miku that talks in the Coachella Hatsune Miku ad, as well as the Miku I tune that speaks at Miku LIVE!I made the pitch aggressive so she sounds angry, but made it gooey so she sounds cute at the same time. Like an angry puppy with attitude.I also created like 10 vocal layers, some with a more deep and mature miku lightly rapping, some with a chipmunk-esque VERY dramatic miku rapping ect. This created a wall of sound that you typically hear in Cortisa Star's mixes!The entire concept of this cover was "what if hatsune miku turned the heat up?" and I got really dedicated to it. It was worth having to edit the timing for hours, I wanna do this more! I love Vocal Synth rap...

I tuned Hatsune Miku V6 to perform jazz vocals!I love Miracle Paint, and I was very curious what it would sound like in English with more traditionally jazz vocals. Lots of adlibs, spoken-word melodies, twang, growls, and musically and culturally aware dynamics!I made sure though while making her perform in this genre, to still find ways to emphasize the typical "cuteness" I am used to hearing in Hatsune Miku vocals!I wanted it to sound less like Hatsune Miku tuned to sound like Jazz vocals, and more like Hatsune Miku herself took a few jazz vocal lessons!I had fun making her go from a silky smooth tone, similar to Miku Dark, straight into a cute idol-like rap, into Miku solid-like soulful growls with glissando.

This song is so fun! I wanted to make Miku sound like old Japanese VOCALOID songs that utilize auto-tune on well pronounced Japanese. Artists like KZ livetune, old Giga, and Hachioji P. However, this song is in English, but I wanted the sound to be similar to those Japanese tracks. Due to this, I language bent Hatsune Miku V3 ORIGINAL (Japanese) into English, tactfully edited the timing of the consonants and the clarity of the vowels to try and make her sound like an English voicebank while keeping her Japanese tone. I then intentionally made the pitch a bit wonky in a way I think Miku would if she couldn't sing all that well. I did this on specific parts of the song KNOWING that I would add intense auto-tune in post processing, making her sound like a bedroom producer Hyperpop artist, whilst tonally referencing old VOCALOID work that utilized auto-tune heavily.For Len, I did the same thing, but instead of cute he's just very loud and angry and unintelligible, leaning more into stylistically distorted sounds.

This is one of my favorite covers I have ever done!This cover abuses the VST "VoiceDrive", and I make IA growl like a human!The tuning is very inspired by rock singers, and Utaite such as Ado! I basically asked myself the question "what if Lia sung like Ado... but Lia got singing lessons from Alice Peralta.... and it still sounded like IA?"Following this very emotion first approach, I made sure to tune appropriately with the lyrics. I wanted her vocals to tell a story, and I wanted everyone to actually feel her anger, hurt, desperation, and denial.This is definitely a range showcase for me and IA 2.0. Every single one of her dynamics are used in this cover, all of her ALPHA ranges, all of her markers, all of her tone shift registers, and multiple different "fanmade vocal modes" throughout the cover that utilize these combinations!She has a laid back youthful uncanny surreal sounding tone, and a loud growly deep tone, a calm falsetto tone, and a fat and husky tone. Just a lot of tone shifting.I really enjoy making this type of cover. I love 1st PLACE's philosophy they have for live shows of making sure IA feels like "an artist with a soul" through hologram illusions and immersive performances. I like to apply that rule past visuals, and put it onto vocals as well. This was my showcase of what I mean when I think that!

This cover uses the PIAPRO SUPERPACK vocals! I love SAWTOWNE's music, and as a longtime VOCALOID fan it sounds very nostalgic yet modern to me! I was inspired by that, and decided to try and create the old "squeaky" and "pitchy" sound I associate with a lot of old cutesy VOCALOID music, but with more modern and expressive cillia-like pitch to create a fresh but tonally nostalgic sound featuring all of the CFMloids, characterized like how they speak at Magical Mirai!

IA, MAIKO, AND LAPIS! I used them all together to reference the old VOCA-ROCK and NIGHTCORE days where you could not escape the picture above!I actually didn't use Maiko's UTAU exactly, but rather I exported her samples and put them together in my DAW like a Youtube Poop, and then tuned them there! This was to emphasize the attack, and make the screams sound more natural when drawn out, as they would not be synthesized, but rather her voice provider's real human samples, which are quite long actually. If they were not long enough, I'd slow them down.For IA, I wanted her to sound similar to Su-Metal in the original. Not singing super dramatically, but still a bit pitchy, and then having auto-tune ontop of her. I wanted her tone to be similar to minimally tuned IA 1.0 even though she's IA 2.0 and tuned. Resembling IA songs like "REZONA".For Aoki Lapis, I wanted her to sound like a traditional VOCALOID vocal on the singing parts, and like a cute idol on the chant parts!I like how this turned out!

I love this song! When I heard it I was really curious what it would sound like if the call and response was more emphasized at the end, and then it evolved into an entire pitch performance in my brain that I needed to map out!IA and Yukari are one of my favorite Vocal Synth duo's EVER and I was so happy making this because I feel I got to personify each of them as characters very accurately to how I see them in my world! So... here they are! Partners in my book! :DIA is very dramatic, loud, open, and expressive, whilst Yukari compliments her with a controlled, flat, closed, and soft sound!I like to imagine IA as super outgoing and confident, and Yukari as very shy and reserved. However, both of them are equally talented vocalists, and if IA gets Yukari excited enough on stage... she'll show it! That's how I approach this duo. LOL.I am also obsessed with appropriately switching between pitchy synthetic tuning and realistic smooth tuning in one song to emphasize verse switches!

This is when I became completely obsessed with layering and never went back LOL. If the song calls for it, I will usually tune MANY main tracks with different textures intentionally designed to cover voicebank flaws. For example, if a voicebank is very thin and lacks body, I will layer a track that's overly chesty and breathy to make up for the frequency gap.This was also VERY inspired by 2cada, I let my love for her covers out here, and it basically served as an outlet for my multiple tuning studies I have done on her work.There is A LOT of manual modulation over Miku's dynamics, breath control, and tone. I wanted to make her sound as realistic as possible, and I felt NT_2's tone was a great time to test this type of Miku out, as I feel very nasally and characteristically Miku voicebanks once tuned realistically sound superb, as the "flaws" and very loud characteristics of it sit nicely on-top of the large amount of editing to make her realistic and clear, making sure she doesn't lose her "miku-ness" through the process.

My prize for winning the 17th VSynth Tuning Contest was NOA HEX, one of my favorite male VB's ever! I paired him with the Synth that won him, IA! How romantic...I did a vocal study on multiple modern RnB singers around this time, including SZA, and this cover was an outlet for that knowledge!I wanted to bend IA to be western, soulful, and clear, but still staying in a range and tone I could imagine Lia performing in.I love how Kendrick and SZA sound on the original together so much! He sounds so laid back, while she sings her heart out. I tried to imitate that dynamic between the two, but for NOA I put more emphasis on vocal fry, staccato, and consonant dropping rather than slurring as I felt it fit his timbre.This is prob my favorite genre to tune for!

In the original song, she pitches herself down to imitate a male soprano and it creates a really uncanny, surreal, but pretty and muffled sounding processed vocal. I tried to recreate that sound by genderbending ANRI into ANDI all in Editor. I used the gender parameter, tone shift, and breath modulation alongside muffled pronunciations, and dropped consonants to create a surreal, slurred sounding hypnotic "indie" vocal performance.I love ANDI, and I tried to use the strange sound that comes from over gendering SynthV voice banks stylistically basically, and felt this song was a perfect pick for this experiment!

KAITO!!!!! I tuned KAITO to be very breathy and intimate! LOTS of manual dynamic editing so that his lungs feel all up in your face, consonants feel isolated and real as if you can hear his mouth on the mic, and his SUPER deep low range has more body to it, suppressing the unnatural low octave VOCALOID buzz just a bit through manual breath control and layering.Pitch wise, I wanted him to sound bored, submissive, and nervous. I tuned it around the idea of building up the pitch in the verses as if it would release into something larger, and then having him, as if uninterested, not finish. This cover was me testing out ONE's new 2.0 version of her VoiSona voicebank, alongside IA English 2.0 with an ARIA lore related rap verse at the end!I love this songs high notes and dramatic melodies, so I tuned it around the idea of ONE being very emotional about them. She belts, she cries, and she shifts through multiple emotional states. The chorus is tuned intense, powerful, and passionate, whilst the verses are mellow, reluctantly calm, and breathy as if she is holding in tears.I love doing this type of raw emotional tuning.I also turned up the husk slightly and tried to mix in a lot of high end to imitate the engine noise of her 1.0 Voice bank I love dearly, but not so much that it begins to sound tinny, or resemble the original version overly.I wanted IA's rap at the end to sound distorted, as if she was almost speaking to ONE through a phone on another planet, letting out her true emotions.The added rap is IA speaking her feelings of despair and hopelessness landing on Earth and realizing her musical influence she has on Planet ARIA is not present. She can't save Earth with just her voice. ONE landed and helped her through this depression, and the rap serves as IA's appreciation to her sister for the support and love she gave her.

I made this cover to lightheartedly celebrate Hatsune Miku getting added to Fortnite! One of my favorite characters of all time is Meowscles from Fortnite (IA is wearing his ears in my profile picture lol), and I KNEW what I had to do immediately. Me and my friends put together the video!This cover was language bent on purpose to make her sound cuter and more childish. She sings in English and Korean, but it's NT JPN! I wanted it to sound like Hatsune Miku singing a children's song, but occasionally feeling it a little to much and some sass slipping through. Her pitch is very flowy, disconnected, and light. This cover won the 17th Vocal Synth Tuning Contest!This was a vocal study of "Alice Peralta", one of my favorite singers of all time, who deeply inspired the way I interpret my default "JazzyWasseh" IA.She is a similar vocalist in timbre to Lia, but they perform with very different technique. Lia is very controlled, operatic, and traditional. While Alice is very dynamic, twangy, and soulful.I enjoy tone shifting IA VoiSona's base notes up multiple semitones, whilst leaving her pitch on the intended note. This makes her enter her upper register's tone, which can be a bit nasally when paired with lower pitches. I use this alongside her loud dynamics to give her an RnB/Gospel like "twang" that I feel greatly compliments dramatic, expressive, and bouncy pitch.I also abused her Falsetto marker in this cover!One of my favorites! <3

I wanted to see if I could get all of these different sounding voicebanks to stand out from eachother, but not clash! I was very inspried by Kpop and Utaite vocals, and gave each character a different role.I wanted IA to be the "overperformer". The main vocalist who's given the high note. I wanted ONE to be her sub vocalist. I wanted Flower to be the main contrasting vocal, using the opposite technique of IA. Flower would be complimented by Yukari's role as the "glue" of the group, holding everyone together with soft breathy transitions! Then Suzuki was a powerhouse similar to IA, and her ONE was Sasara! I don't know if that makes sense. LOL.I love making groups and tuning them all in different styles!OH. Also it's Korean. I love language bending!!

WAVEFILE was one of my first Hatsune Miku songs, and I covered this for her 16th birthday! Since the song means so much to me, I wanted to tune Miku intimately, and very derivative of the Miku I grew up listening to from Mitchie M. I was always looping 2cada's Miku NT covers around this time, and this cover also served as me giving Miku NT my "realistic" spin, inspired by her love letters to Mitchie!I made sure to make her sound very cute, with soft, long delicate vibrato, alongside tactful and powerful rhythmic attack.I also began studying vocal mixing extensively around this time, and my style changed a lot due to that. My talented cousin "KillRoxie" created the harmonies for this cover, and I saw the light mixing that many layers for the first time.

I remember the shock of Kasane Teto SV releasing so vividly. Creating this cover was surreal!I wanted her to sound powerful, mad, and almost like she was "mocking" the listener.I loved the power Teto AI was capable of, but did fear she lost a lot of the synthetic characteristics I love to associate with Kasane Teto.Due to this, I tuned two separate main tracks. One of them was deepened slightly, powerful, clear, and realistic. I was inspired by Kasane Teto's voice provider! Then, there was a secondary, counter-melody track where I used tone shifting, gender factor, lowered breathlessness, flat-pitch note-bending, mixing effects, and over-vocalizing to mimic her UTAU's choppy over the top nature! I layered these so that it felt like in the verses you were listening to both a realistic Teto, and a synthetic one at the same time! I felt it helped give her some of her UTAU's original texture and dynamics.

IA/CeVIO obsession has taken me over at this point and there is no return.I found myself tuning so much mature, realistic Lia-like IA, and I was curious what it would sound like if she maintained realism, but approached it from a cutesy, J-idol perspective. I notice, and love, that a lot of Japanese producers pitch IA V3 up, and I tried to imagine what those interpretations of her would characteristically sound like if human, and then painted it!I was also super SUPER SUPERRRRR inspired by Ciel around this time, especially his demo cover on the official 1st PLACE channel using IA AI for "Moon Viewing Recital"! Changed my life. I studied his tuning HARD.

When Natsuki Karin released in 2022 I immediately became hooked! I was obsessed with her loud, distinct consonants, and nasally tone. I enjoyed pitching her down for a more mature sound, and using her choppy consonants for rhythmic staccato. Ontop of that, I would make her pitch annoyingly expressive to compliment the rhythm. I wanted her to sound sassy and demanding in this cover.This is also when I started the whole "add a rap verse (or verse/adlib) to EVERY JazzyWasseh cover" rule. Even up to this day I giggle at the rap I wrote for this song, it was so fun! "I'm a queen? Did you know that?"

I had so much fun messing with her dynamics to make IA sound hurt, powerful, and emotional. This started an obsession with making dynamic performances for me.I was also in awe at how much she sounded like her voice provider, Lia, and I gained a love for her vocals, bigger than I already felt, and began studying her vocal technique in depth! I got SynthV. It motivated me to get into VOCALOID production again!She was my first voicebank since my purchase of Miku V4 English years prior, and I gave up on tuning Miku... immediately.
